Port Royal

Lots more history today - visited the Habitation at Port Royal. It is a detailed and fascinating reconstruction of this small early 17 century trading compound. Built by the French, who who traded with the Mi'kmaq people, on friendly terms, until of course, the Habitation was attacked and destroyed.

After an excellent lunch - fish again - we went to Annapolis Royal (named after Queen Anne), to the fortifications there, and then had lobster supper cooked by our hosts......
