Macintosh House
We have had a long but excellent journey today with warm and sunny weather.
En route to Inverness we stopped to have our lunch here at Helensburgh to visit Hill House. It is the property of the National Trust for Scotland and was designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh for William Blackie, the famous publisher, in the early 20th century.
The features, decoration and much of the furniture was typical of the Arts and Crafts movement and Art Deco design in the UK. It was well worth the visit.
You can just see Loch Lomond in the distance and it was along the loch side that we continued our journey, crossing Glen Coe and ultimately the Great Glen to Inverness.
