This will probably be the last picture I'll be able to take from the Edinburgh Festivals. So a bit of a shame that I didn't take that many today, and instead spent much of my lunchbreak admiring the Chris Close portraits at the Book Festival. His technique is certainly distinctive, but I was more impressed by his ability to draw out interesting poses from his subjects. Really clever.

I did bump into this fellow photographer and had a very long chat with her. This was taken because she said she wanted to learn more about using her flash, so I used that as an excuse for a quick demonstration.
