Birth(not blip)day

Turned the ripe old age of 29 today. Or as dad said to me this morning "my 30th year". The Chinese grad student I work with asked what am I going to do "if" I make 30.....

Not a very busy morning. Opening cards and present (wetsuit from dad). Early lunch before busy afternoons dissection.

Birthday cake with the lab and whilst eating it a delivery man came in with the hamper and balloon much to my embarrassment. The wife had arranged it as a surprise earlier in the day but the delivery man called me as he couldn't find the lab. I frantically called the wife asking for her to have it delivered at home as just wanted to keep a low profile and not to be center of attention. They cocked up and still delivered it to work.....cue much laughter by co-workers

Picked up be wife and dog as couldn't cycle back with hamper and remains of cake. Just a quiet evening with them both as tired after late night yesterday and busy day today.

Oh and the undergrad has finally got the hang of her genotyping!
