Playing bawo....

Bawo is a traditional game in Malawi - its a variation on the game Bao which is played in many Southern African countries. Its very popular here with the men and you see the women busy farming in the fields and a group of men sitting below a tree playing Bawo!

Today I travelled to Lilongwe as I fly out to Jo'burg tomorrow. Arrived mid afternoon and found two guys playing Bawo so I found my blip for today! Well you can't see the guys just the hand and the board - traditionally it is played with seeds or beans but todays its marbles!!
