Back in Blean Wood
I think this is a female common blue butterfly on a field scabious but I'm not especially "au fait" with wildflowers so I'm happy to be corrected.
There were lots of butterflies out today - in spite of dramatic monsoon rain in the night clearly the insects think that summer has still got a lot of life left in it. I saw blues, meadow browns, peacocks, small tortoiseshells, large white, small heath, gatekeepers and a couple of ancient worn-out ringlets.
Dogs enjoyed the long leisurely walk while I snapped.
Worth viewing large I think.
