Mud Glorious Mud

Took the dogs to Oare Marshes today for a long but very leisurely walk. Mid-day with a slight heat-haze - probably not ideal conditions for photography. I met a guy with a Canon Eos and the BIGGEST lens I've ever seen who was photographing birds but sounded rather disconsolate. We chatted for a while about photography; his lens cost about the same as my car did, new.

This shot is of an abandoned hulk small fishing smack. Oare creek is littered with the weathered rotting carcasses of boats in various states of decay all firmly stuck in the mud. If I were a sailor they'd certainly induce a few shivers in my timbers.
