More Of The Kelpies

A few weeks ago I took a photo of the Falkirk Kelpies being constructed. These massive statues, by Andy Scott, are going to be the symbol of the new Falkirk Heliex public park, and will sit aside the M9 motorwaywhere and the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Construction is continuing on these massive, 30m structures. It looks as if the framework of the nearer statue must be nearing completion, as the metal plates that will cover the statue are starting to be attached (on the right hand side).

Some sense of scale can be gleaned from the crush barriers at the far side of the nearer statue - they are simply massive!
