Messy play

A DIY day. Why do the men get all the fun DIY jobs, hammering, sawing, glueing and I get 3 doors to paint, both sides and 3 coats each. I was even lucky enough to paint the frames and the architrave! Just tricking with the mess I made on the old 1980's carpet, thank goodness I was only trusted with this!

Once a year Ruby has a messy cooking session, I give her a bowl, water and flour plus everything out of date or things we are unlikely to eat from cupboards and the fridge. Two hours she was chopping carrots, adding marshmallows, oregano, soya, pasta, jam, pickle, corn flour, mango chutney, poppadoms, honey, bread etc etc etc!! Two hours of fun and joy as you can see from the smile on her face. It actually smelt rather yummy but I had to draw the time when she asked to cook it! But now my black bin smells like a chefs larder!
