An Avid Lensman

A 200yr old Alder, 404 ft Cathedral Spire & Moon

This was definitely going to be a black and white, but the colours got to me...

After the lazy day, with lazy blip and after the big sleep yesterday, I felt like a good walk in the silly hours of the early morning, for a proper blip!

Weather forecast was for cloud moving in from the east but I caught it in time and a waning moon still gave out some light. Salisbury Cathedral stands out like a needle and this alder tree, which I blipped back in February, is the oldest in Wiltshire. Unfortunately, in summer, growth on the river bank restricts the view of the river greatly and steals the tree its gracious outline. Look in LARGE though and you can see reeds plus stars in the night-sky. The orange glow is from the street-lights around the city.

Lens is Nikkor 10-24mm. The lens being so wide, the tree behind the camera just creeps into the top of the pic.
