Bank Holiday airtime

3years 309days

A fabulous day in the sun with Granny, Grandad, Uncle Simon & Alicia today. We met them at Burniston Show. We arrived a little before them, giving us time to get a cup of tea and watch some show jumping (during which Katie announced that she wanted a horse). We found Uncle Simon & Alicia and pottered round some of the stalls - the oil can collection, lawnmowers and such. But Katie had her eyes on the line of bouncy castles. So we took her over, paid, got her shoes off. She refused to go on. She did however have a long turn on the wooden swings with Monkey. She had a huge grin on her face.

We took a nice time wandering round the "Fur & Feathers" tent. She spent quite a lot of time looking for rabbits that look like hers. She liked the "Cluckclucks" too. She wasnt massively inspired by the ferrets, mainly due to the hot, stuffy nature of the marquee they were displayed in. We had a look round the handicrafts, spotting the biggest carrots, the weirdest vegetable people, the prettiest cakes. After a walk round the sheep pens, a flying session with uncle Simon and a go on the tombola, we went for lunch in a nice pub. Lunch outside in the sunshine, with a few birds and a guinea pig to go look at while we waited, before we said goodbye to everyone and got our train home.

Katie had her first lesson with the new teacher and did really well. The teacher quickly picked up on her confidence and used her for showing the other children the things they were doing. She was rather proud of herself for that. She was very bouncy the entire lesson - which generally means she dunks herself under the water repeatedly and boings back out full of smiles.
