Small Copper on Blooming Heather

Today I saw my first Painted Lady of the year, and my first in Sheffield for 2 years, but it was upstaged by this gorgeous Small Copper. I had a day off emulsioning and met up with friends for lunch. I had a glorious and leisurely walk there and back. it was definitely a butterfly spotting day, although I also saw a jay, some linnets and this lovely mushroom which smells of aniseed. Apologies for lack of comments recently. I don't know where the time has gone. Will try and catch up a bit.
