Sunrise in Huntington Beach
Today Mr. Fun was up early, early and took this photo (which he thinks is not very good because of all the power lines). I woke slightly later, but we still started the morning early by bicycling from this neighborhood to the ocean and then turning south toward Newport Beach. We pedaled to Balboa on the Newport Peninsula before we turned around to come back. We're guessing we went a distance of at least 12 miles. Yesterday we think we bicycled about 8 miles toward the Huntington Beach pier and back.
Today's ride was much nicer than yesterday's ride because the weekend crowd has now gone home. The ocean is a wonderful sight and pedaling along the boardwalk this morning and seeing all the beach houses is always interesting, plus we could see south along the coastline to Dana Point, north to the Palos Verdes Peninsula, east to Mt. Baldy and the San Bernardino mountains, and to the west we could see Catalina Island. The view this morning was terrific!
We're having a fun and a relaxing time on this vacation Monday. At the moment we are outside of a Starbucks with our laptops, just long enough for me to post my blip. I hope you are all having a great time. I will be back to regular commenting when our vacation concludes.
Good night from Southern California.
