Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Bicycle Trail Early, Early Morning

Mr. Fun walked over to the Santa Ana River Bicycle Trail early this morning--I was not quite awake or ready to leave the house and he said the sky was just too beautiful not to go, so the photo is compliments of Mr. Fun. He placed the camera on the pavement and pointed it east toward home. The inland mountains are even visible. So that's what you are now getting to see.

The view yesterday and today have been spectacular. He then came back to the house so that we could both ride the tandem. We pedaled to the coastline and then north along the sand to Sunset Beach before we turned around to ride back. We rode approximately 20+ miles. To say that we are a little sore would not be an exaggeration. Usually the third day in a row of bicycling is the toughest. Sitting on the bicycle seat is painful. So hopefully tomorrow the pain will be less.

Every evening we've gone to the Santa Ana River jetty between Newport Beach and Huntington Beach to watch the sunset--it is colorfully entertaining and inspiring to watch the sun slip out of sight. Every color of the rainbow shows up if only for a moment. If we had Internet at the house we'd blip the sunset for you, but it's 5:00 p.m. and we're sitting at main Branch of the Huntington Beach Library enjoying their free Wi-Fi. Sunset is after 8:00.

Other than bicycling, we've done absolutely nothing today and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We plan to continue doing more of the same, except that we intend to keep increasing the mileage each day on the tandem bicycle.

Thanks to everyone who continues to comment. Without Internet at the house, I'm just not getting to do the same--the library is nice, but not where we want to spend our time when there is a coast to view, experience, and enjoy.

Until next time, hope you are having a fun first week of August.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
