World Record

Les Anderson caught the World Record King Salmon in the Kenai River in 1985.
The fish weighed 97 pounds 4 oz. Les was a resident of Soldotna, so everyone was happy it was a local.

This wood carving of him greets visitors to the Soldotna Visitor Center.

He was 68 years old at the time and has since passed away.
