Woodpeckers galore

It continues to be a busy place around here with our son and his family afoot. Lots of fun adventures abound. Today, I did find some time to take a few woodpecker photos. I'm pretty sure this is a Hairy woodpecker because of the larger size and longer beak. Reading up on the Hairy woodpecker, I found out that it is quite a beneficial bird saving forest and fruit trees by destroying harmful insects when it extracts them from holes with its barbed tongue. I chose this blip, because it almost seemed like the woodpecker posed for me in profile.
