Yes. Another woodpecker!
Today's choice is a female yellow-bellied sapsucker. It is differentiated from the male by having only a red crown, where as the male has a red crown and throat.
They love the oranges and will squeak and wine until we put one out. Creatures of habit, for sure. We're glad that they like the oranges as these woodpeckers can damage trees. They bore holes in trees ' letting the sap exude and run down the tree. They wipe up or suck the oozing sap with their brush-like tongues.' This could become a point of entry for disease.
Anyway, another bird that I love to watch.
