Flooding of Enfield

The huge Quabbin Reservoir in western Massachusetts flooded the town of Enfield (and others) in the 1930s. It continues to supply much of Boston's water. Capturing the essential sequence, these images were taken by Les Campbell, who to this day lives nearby (in Belchertown) and for part of the time worked at the Quabbin.

Les Campbell is a member of my photography club--the PVPA (website in progress)--and has been a mentor of mine since I joined a few years ago. This blip shows Les at a comprehensive image of his Quabbin photographs in 2010, with information about him.

The PVPA club met this evening at the Quabbin Visitor Center, where I blipped this image. It was our typical meeting, with lots of humorous cracks on even the best of our wonderful images.
