Atlanta bound.

Off to ATL, GA for labour day weekend. Early flight (7:50am) and got dropped off at airport by friend who was reciprocating past airport run favors.

Smooth flight, 4 hours. ATL a huge sprawling hub. Eventually got our suitcase (it never came out on the carousel but was put in a side room for some reason). Luckily the delta app lets you track your baggage otherwise we may still have been waiting.

Then caught the metro and travelled from south to north of downtown. People afterwards were surprised that we took it as they thought it was dangerous. But seemed safe enough for me. That seems to be the major view on public transport over here - dangerous use car instead.

Arrived at hotel. Very nice and modern. Courtesy of the wife's business points. So we are on "preferred member" level. With our noses in the air!

Went for a nice meal at a local restaurant, then wandered around the mall opposite the hotel to find a wedding dress for the wife for Sunday.

Had a few drinks in hotel bar with some locals who gave us some good tips on what to do/see downtown tomorrow.

Heard from babes sitter that she spent the night sleeping on the couch and barking at the possums. Then had a play date with a boxer dog. Sounds like she is having as much fun as we are!
