"Someone told us how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street."
Our day out to Universal Studios was an off again, on again affair due to the lurking typhoon. Even when we woke up this morning, the trip was off. However, after looking out the window and checking the weather forecast, I decided it would be a shame to cancel it and spend the day looking at the sunshine so, at 0815, we decided to go. By 0900, we were on our way. That meant we didn't arrive at U.S.J. until 1000; pretty late, but we made the best of it.
We did very well indeed, actually. We rode Jurassic Park twice, Spider-Man twice, Space Fantasy - The Ride twice and Jaws twice. We also rode Bubble Bubble, Flying Snoopy and Arthur rode Elmo's Big Drive, and we watched the Rock and Roll Monster Show. It rained twice; once when we were in the theatre watching the Rock and Roll and Monster Show, and again while we were looking in the shops before going home. No problem then.
The Sesame Street attractions had been added since the last time we went to U.S.J. so I was looking forward to seeing those. They didn't disappoint. Could the Muppets ever disappoint anybody? I ask you! Spider-Man had also been remastered since the last time we rode this attraction. It is now much improved; there is far more detail in the cityscapes and scenery and the villains now look more like the movie versions than the comic book versions. Kind of neat, too, was the addition of two animated cameo appearances by Stan Lee during the ride plus a Stan Lee voiced announcement at the end of the ride.
So, to sum up, a fantastic day. U.S.J. is not quite as good as Disneyland, but it still makes for a great day out. That's it, "great" as opposed to Disneyland's "magical."
