Off again
This weekend my EU meetings start up again so I decided to blip the bus to the airport. As Lithuania currently holds the Presidency of the EU my first meetings are in Vilnius.
Lithuania is a small Northern European country but is very much at the centre of things as a full member of the EU. It took over the presidency of the EU from Ireland.
For anybody worried by the No to Scottish independence campaign's ludicrous claims about Scotland and the EU you only have to look at small EU nations such as Ireland and Lithuania, amongst many others (including the newest member, Croatia), to see that an independent Scotland would be welcomed as a full EU member, just like all the other small independent European nations at the heart of Europe.
