Bake Fest!

Over the past two days I have made 2 batches Scotch pancakes, one batch of ENORMOUS scones, a load of mega oat cookies and Empire biscuits. And then I wonder why I'm barrel shaped! *rolls eyes*

Not that I've eaten them all myself! Oh no, I've had help :)

Ele and Gail arrived at 1.30 and dropped off their respective OH's who were playing golf with D. They left picking up some oat cookies on their way. Picnic at the 9th you know! and Ele, Gail and I headed to the kitchen for lunch of homemade soup good grief I really am on a homemade roll this weekend! sandwiches then these babies.

I was actually quite nervous as Gail is a connoisseur of Empire biscuits and this is the first time I've made them, but she declared them superb and I have to admit I did enjoy mine with my cuppa.

So thanks for the recipe Mrs Cakescakescakes . You are a very bad influence wonderful blip pal and hubby and now Ele, Kenny, Alan and Gail are very happy that I follow your journal :)) xx

After a few busy weekends D and I are enjoying a quiet Saturday night to ourselves. Having not had a drink since the middle of July due to taking painkillers for my knee, I have decided since the dose is now much reduced to risk having a wee Baileys with ice. One glass and I'm pished a tad giddy!! Oh well, at least I'm a lightweight at something! ;-))
