Park life

As my leg has been playing up this week I thought I'd volunteer at parkrun rather than run. What I forgot to factor in was that I'd have to be there much earlier than my usual 8.55am. Left the fella getting up and headed out just after 8am. On a Saturday. For fun. I was put on barcode scanning at the finish - essentially scanning each runner's barcode then their finish token. Was great fun - except for some of the slightly sweaty tokens that were handed over by the exhausted runners. Without me to hinder him, the fella stormed it again and is now well under the target we set for Christmas (sub 25). It's still my target but think he needs a new one.

We then popped into town to get more house stuff (new bed linen and some pictures today) then went a bit wild in a local deli on lunch stuff as mum n dad came over. Once they were fed it was onto the reason I asked them over - gardening. Mum had once again turned up with a load of plants so my garden is starting to look quite good now. The fella was in charge of edging the lawn and took his role very seriously using a tape measure and some string to mark exactly where he wanted to trim. Then got the very immature giggles with my mum over him trimming a bush.

Amazing dinner of rack of lamb and French beans (from mum n dad's allotment) with red wine. But yet more markers that summer has gone - had to wear a jumper today and worse than that Xfactor started. A sure sign Christmas is on its way!!
