Eyes

This morning it was a coffee at a friends house - followed by tea at another where I dropped off a disc of pictures..... and given a couple of tickets for admission to The Scottish Owl Centre.

So in the afternoon SWMBO headed out to look at the owls.

It is a really interesting place with loads of birds.

I took loads of pictures and got one or two I am quite happy with.
The biggest problem in trying to get decent pictures is the small mesh size on most of the enclosures. It is a bit small and gets in the way - even with a wide open aperture.
The second biggest problem is the plain wooden backs - which is where most of the birds seem to sit.

When it came to shooting the birds in flight (inside), the biggest problem is the 'old' technology of my camera and lens (the high iso capabilities are not too great in the camera and the lens focus isn't fast enough).
