Sandpiper

Today was a good day for blips! This morning I was able to get some nice shots of hummingbirds and dragonflies. However, this afternoon we went to the beach area on our small lake and had some fun with the grandchildren swimming and fooling around. My son-in-law was in the water and said "Jan, isn't that a sandpiper to your right?". Now, this is not a usual bird to be spotted in our area. As you can imagine, I was quite excited and was able to get a couple of blips that turned out pretty good. Looked it up in the bird book and it is known as a Solitary Sandpiper. Yep, it was all alone. Am happy for the find!
