Sleepers #4
This afternoon we visited the textile biennale at the museum in Rijswijk in the Netherlands
http://www.museumrijswijk.nl/rtb2013/
This included some truly astonishing achievements with textiles and sewing. (also as usual some things I did not really understand, including their prices !)
Today's shot stood out - literally - a flat textile image by Martin Fenne which looked more 3 dimensional than the real thing. You can learn a bit more on the artists web site at
http://www.martinfenne.nl/index.php?/projects/sleepers-----4/
There were some other really interesting pieces by an American artist call Jim Arendt. Images of people also looking 3 dimensional but created out of pieces of denim in different shades to show the light and shadows - really tremendous and true to life.
Unfortunately I could not really do them justice in a photograph.
Again you can see more on the artists web site at
