Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale

Sounds like 'bum trouble' but these are Hawthorn Shield bugs. Never heard of them - neither had I. Amazing what you learn doing blip! But if they like hawthorn berries what are they doing on my silver birch? Maybe they have identification problems as well. I like to think it is Mum,Dad and nymph!
As you can see it has been a lovely sunny September day. Long may this weather continue.
Seen large their eyes are a bit scary!
