pebble underneath my feet

By anjali

those were the best days of my life

Today was mainly spent travelling towards Bekopaka, the closest village to the National Park of Bemaraha. The road is essentially a long dirt road with lots of ups and downs and twists and turns so the 4 x 4 definitely helped!

We stopped at a small village where I had lots of fun playing with some of the children. We exchanged games, danced around a bit and generally messed about....all without speaking more than 5 words in each other's language. I guess laughter is universal.

Just before leaving, this gentleman approached me and asked me if I could take his photograph as he wanted to see himself. It was the first time an adult had asked me to have their picture taken so I was a bit surprised. His smile when he saw his reflection, however, was that of a child! Beaming :)

Once we arrived in the campsite, we pitched our tents and then spent the afternoon playing Scrabble in 3 differnet languages. Fun times :)
