Vintage blackberries

I took Katie in to nursery a little later than normal today. We had a slightly more gentle start then spent a long time blackberry picking. There is a path that runs behind nursery, with huge bushes either side. Yesterday we had cause to go along it and noticed how impressive the blackberries were. We helped an elderly couple gather some yesterday in fact. So today we returned for our own. They are deliciously sweet, huge and juicy. And free!

Katie was extremely excited to get to nursery and find Brookey there, after a couple of weeks of her being away. Apparently they spent a lot of time doing creative role play games today. Of their own accord, they apparently made a large den, using bits of the home corner, fabric from the quiet corner, and clips that hold other elements of the quiet corner together. The staff seemed very impressed with the creativity, rather than bothered about the assembling of the pieces, so that's good!

Swimming tonight. And it was the third teacher in as many weeks, which just threw Katie into a tizz, despite it being one of her early teachers that was taking the lesson. Eventually she did go in, so long as mummy sat on poolside (not normally allowed). Rob hasn't taught her in ages, and handed her two floats to practice kicking along. She scowled at me and had me explain that she in fact didnt need them then proceeded to show him exactly why she did not need them, and continued on to enjoy the remainder of her lesson, little mermaid.
