Bryce Canyon

When we arrived at this National Park, the entire canyon was shrouded in the mist. Slowly the air cleared and we were greeted by some of the hoodos in the foreground. These figures we carved by erosion, freezing and the wind.

Bryce Canyon was named after Ebenezer Bryce, an early Morman cattle rancher. His cattle grazed in and among the fantastic formations of the area. He is quoted as saying that the canyon would be, "...a hell of a place to lose a cow."
