Blackberrying

Last day of the school holidays for the mini pinks. Tomorrow Master Pink starts Juniors, and Miss Pink starts "big school". She'll spend the afternoon in reception class, while mummy weeps into her tea about how big her babies have got. :(

This morning we went for a walk with mums dog. It was already pretty warm by the time we got going but it became really hot as our walk went on. The mini pinks both wanted to do different things and Molly the dog had her own ideas. But eventually we all headed down into a spinny off the playing fields and found loads of blackberries. We picked lots, and to my surprise Master Pink really enjoyed it. Miss Pink got a bit grumpy and hungry after a while, so we headed home. After refuelling and some Tom and Jerry, the mini pinks set to it with the blackberries. First up we made blackberry, pear and banana smoothies. It made a huge mess, and the mini pinks drank hardly any of it, but they really enjoyed the process. Especially squishing the apples and pears off the tree into juice.
We used the rest of the blackberries for crumble and some are being prepared for jam.

So pe bags have just been made and filled (bit last minute!) and the school bags are ready. Sob!
