Today, Alex got to make and eat for the first time in his (almost) 5 years on this earth, Chocolate Chip Cookies. Tried out an egg-free recipe that was better than any cookie I've ever made with or without eggs. He was incredibly attentive, excited for every step of the process and manned the Kitchenaid with more precision and care than even his momma. When I asked him what his favorite thing was about making cookies, he replied "eating (the dough)". When I asked him what his second favorite thing was, "putting the chocolate chips in. . . and eating them". Searching for something more than consumption of the product, I asked him what his third favorite thing was about baking his first batch of cookies and he replied "steering it".
