Cathedral Quarry
Well, the reason there's all this water in the Lake District became apparent today after it rained all day. We decided to go to Cathedral Quarry near Elterwater to be slightly under shelter, it also gave us an excuse to have coffee at Chester's at Skelwith Bridge and lunch in Coniston...
I'd never been here before - slightly nervous about taking the toddler in as he has a tendency to throw a fit when we take him into cold, dark places like churches etc. However, I need not have feared as he seemed quite happy. I can only conclude that it's something about churches he doesn't like...
Obviously dark but interesting to see what amazing colours were in the rock once your eyes had adjusted. Also quite dry compared with outside :-)
