Nature behind bars....?

A grey old day in Lancaster ... and a very wet one too!

Whilst I've loved watching the butterflies around lots of buddleias this summer ... I normally 'tut' at the neglect of historic buildings when I see seedlings allowed to penetrate and damage their structure. Even so, I felt this one needed congratulating. It is - like so many beings before it - bounded by the strong arm of the law at Lancaster Castle .... now an x-historic prison!

Sorry about the quality though. Both Katy and Phillip are urging me to ditch my super simple (semi-technophobe) phone for P's last 'cast off' as the camera is better. Hmmm ... just got used to the idea of snapping on this phone, but am almost persuaded.
