Royal Exchange ... a fantastic space and place

Off to Manchester today. It was the first of our theatre dates in the new season, there.

It is a brilliant place and although this photo is pretty poor and doesn't do it justice at all I wanted the theatre to be my blip, today. The contrast of 'industrial' theatre pod structure and Victorian architectural confidence along with the soft, beautifully coloured lighting is zingy and stunning. Add in the quality of productions, the talents of the craftsfolk selling their work there ... and the very tasty cakes .. well, then you've got the most wonderful place to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!
