amused/weary
the cavalcade moved to a new home this year because of tram works and the meadows being tired out. thankfully, despite it being almost slap bang outside my front door (holyrood park, in reality about 25 yards away) i was at work and so could avoid the traffic chaos and massed hoardes of picnickers and tourists other than half an hour when i freely went of my own accord to wander for a bit and look for a blip. yesterday's band were in attendance; they were forming up to march into the arena when i arrived, it was nice to see them - note to band leader: outdoor playing needs MORE VOLUME and crowd-pleasing tunes need to be upbeat, recognisable or show tunes (or all three).
however, there was no contest for a blip: stiltwalkers are always bizarre, and this lot (there were about a half-dozen in various colours) were even bizarre by stiltwalkers-at-the-fringe terms. i saw one lean his beak down to a baby in a pushchair, tho amazingly there was no screaming, and my pic of this pink one pecking the copper on the back of the neck was too blurry, but i thought this shot had comedy value all the same.
---------------
i remain unimpressed by the inability to answer an email or text, or to even indulge in the smallest of small talk. dedication to duty is one thing, but martydom and generally flogging yourself to death is pretty pointless... take a sodding break and talk to me!!!
