Garden spider

The common or garden spider, Araneus diadematus.
At the allotment all day, could hardly carry the courgettes home, the crop was so huge.
This little girl is about the most common spider in the gardens of Europe. Wee and harmless and quite pretty. I know this will prompt the Australians to laugh pityingly and tell tales of the 7 foot jumping spider which ripped off old Uncle Clive's leg and chased him with the wet end ;)
