While the sentinel sleeps

A wary cat waits,
Then slinks sinuously on.
The sentinel sleeps.

After yesterdays excitements (blipmeet and then Strictly and wine with friends in the evening) ... today was a bit quieter.

It rained a lot and I didn't do much .... got up at 5.45am to accompany Greg driving in to work for 6, came home and went back to bed. Woke up later and read Saturdays Guardian while having tea in bed .... decadent bliss!

Spent a bit of time in the office in a pathetic attempt to tidy and organise ready for battle tomorrow ... luckily I was distracted by this cat tentatively picking its way through the rain soaked grass, while on the other side of the house the dog was sound asleep on the doorstep .... I took a few shots and the cat turned to look and listen ... then carried on ...... the dog slumbered on ...
