Catalina
Mrs F and I had a trip to the static aircraft display at Prestwick today. This is the PBY-5A Catalina, a long range amphibious patrol bomber. It saw a lot of action in the second world war and was used to hunt German submarines.
We saw a few interesting exhibits and also had a wander round the airport. We went up to the viewing gallery where you used to be able to go out and stand on the roof to watch the planes. Sadly with all the security measures these days you have to stay inside.
After a quick cappuccino at Starbucks we headed off to Irvine for the weekly shop.
On the laptop front the new BigVaio is ready so the BabyVaio is being rebuilt tonight for Mrs F. Now I just have to find all the software for it.
