" JUST MESSING ABOUT ON THE RIVER........"

As it was Sunday, and it was two weeks since we had seen Matthew, he had told me in the week that he wanted to go to a Fun Day being held in the field near his Home. I knew, of course, that the only reason he wanted to go was he believed that someone would have a stall with second hand books. And of course nobody did. The event was really to advertise all the different clubs in the area. The Archery Group were represented, our local Sheppey Cider had a stall and numerous animal groups were also there.

The above is a picture of the local canoe group who meet and use the River Tone. They are shortly to have their own building to house canoes etc.

There was a volley ball game being played, a running group and an Orienteering course. Live music was being played but Mr A wasn't comfortable as the bass player wasn't up to standard.

We had been watching the BBC, and I dont mean the broadcasting company but the big black clouds, gathering and sure enough before 13.00, it started to rain. We had taken Phoebe with us and so we went for a walk around the Meadow which is an amazing facility for Taunton residents.

We had to return Matthew for his lunch but of course promised to keep in touch. He is now getting excited for his holiday with us to Cornwall in just 2 weeks time. I am concerned about the weather and how cold it might be.
We had to run the heating this morning to take the chill off as the temperature was 7 degrees here and cold.

We arrived home quite late in the afternoon via fuel stations etc. So the rest of the time has been playing catch up with washing etc.
