Hop harvest - Day 6: Fifty Shades of Green

The blip shows the hop storage. Here the dried hops sits for some days to even out the water content before baling. In the moment there are roughly 6,000 kg of hops in the storage. At the end of the campaign it will be aprroximately 7,500 kg, about 25% less than the average of the last five years, due to catastrophic weather conditions in the last three month.

The hop variety we are growing at our farm and harvesting right now is called Hallertauer Saphir by the way, an aroma hop variety, that induces a slight lime flavour when used in the brewing process.
