A Dragonfly at Last!

Bees, yes, the odd butterfly, yes, but dragon or damsel flies have eluded me so far this first year of my photographing the small flying things of creation.

The credit is shared between Helen, my wife, who noticed it, and the dragonfly itself for staying still long enough for me to make the shot. My contribution? — my focus was not so good, and I left the ISO far, far too high!

But is it a Red-veined Darter or a Ruddy Darter? Or are they different names for the same things?
