10 Countries Run Day 1 - Calais to Grenoble
Today was the first proper day of the Club Triumph 10 Countries run. Having stayed overnight in Calais, we met up with all the other entrants (over 80 cars) for a final drivers briefing before setting off. Our mini team of 6 drivers (pictured here) includes two that tackled the 10 countries run (including me, Chris) two years ago, but the route was a bit different this time so lots to look forward to. In case you don't recognise us, Annie and I are the middle two of the group.
Early running was good and we made great progress through France. We have to stop and check in 2-3 times per day at specific locations. Today we checked in at the old motor racing circuit at Reims where the grandstands stand either side of a main road now - very cool and worth a visit.
The day finished up just outside Grenoble. We arrived around 2.30am and just for this night bedded down in the cars. A long but ultimately successful day.
