These Shoes

I've been battling it out with shoes for the past 2yrs. After 30yrs of good old Birkenstock : can't walk in them any more, can't walk in anything.My feet screech, "get them off" after a few mins ,at the film group it becomes a joke : " the shoes are going on, must be time to finish". But it sure ain't a joke living with it. Neurology tell me I've got compression of the Spinal Cord in my neck, that's making my feet both numb and hypersensative. Knowing what's happening does help, but doesn't make walking easier. Early in the summer Podiatrist told me the guy who designed MBT's was bringing out something new, a Norwegian company, soon to be here. 'Try em', he said. So I got a pair (£200, yes, realy ). They realy are winter wear, feet couldn't tolerate them in the heat. But now it's cooled down I'm having a concerted effort to get used to them. Balance feels better : I'm hopefull.
Anyone else having similar difficulties : I'd love to know how you manage it??.
Ageing is sure not for cissies.
