Paddy Crop vs Water

Paddy crop is widely sown in Pakistan. Pakistani rice is popular world over for its quality and taste. This particular crop requires much water for its growth. The farmers depend heavily on tube wells, diesel engines for watering the crop. The oil prices have always been high in Pakistan, thus creating problems for growers. Little rain this year will affect fertility and productivity for the crop. World climate has undergone a change and variable weather patterns are also affecting this region of the world.

Such types of crop could be extinct in the time to come becaue of water scarcity in the world. They need to be genetically modified for future generations.
