Big decisions

Today I took the hamster back to where I bought it from...and we didn't get another...hence the empty carrying box.

We had a BIG TALK last night and decided that was the best option & our family will remain hamster-free for the time being....

It got to the point where Sam was scared of going anywhere near this hamster and quite frankly so was I -you should have seen the blood! Nevertheless it needs to be "socialised" if it is to be a pet and ASAP, but we decided last night that someone else with more experience has to do it. From the screaming and crying I have seen in the last week quite frankly I was happy to see the back of Chewy, and the smelly cage and the keeping-Sam-awake-at-night.

Satisfyingly (in a sorry sort of way) - when the lady taking it back handled it- it bit her 4 or 5 times in a matter of minutes.

I think it's just a bad tempered hamster :-(
