Friday 13th - not everyone's ideal day for an early morning spin across the bay in the aptly named Ice Breaker
These intrepid members of the Rowporty club are part of the 130 members who enjoy open sea rowing. Today was a testing one as the stiff easterly was whipping up a fair old swell. They take it in turns to cox the boat - ten minutes is about as much as any cox can stand before the cold kicks in and they need to get the blood flowing again through rowing. How do you stand up in this weather to change places I asked with inceasing respect for this intrepid crew. We just keep our centre of gravity low was the cool response! Followed by a genuine invitation to join them on their next outing! I am tempted to give it a try but not on a day like today.
