Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Imagining the Flower

I know that is not much of a photo, but I do think it represents something significant from our day.

Mr. Fun gave me a ride home from work because my car is still in the repair shop. Thursday is sometimes a short day for me and it was today, so we decided to stop to get a bite to eat. Tamazula's is a little mom & pop place close to our house. It was delicious.

We arrived home and I look a quick look at FaceBook and discovered that our friend, Stepho (her nickname--real name is Stephanie), is not doing so well. Two and a half weeks ago she had brain surgery to remove a tumor. After the surgery, the doctors were confident they had removed 99.9% of the tumor. Today she has had a massive stroke and is not expected to live. Steph is 55. We've know her since she was 18 and active in the youth group at the church at we all attended. Stephanie has been a beautiful flower in the lives of many of us.

Steph is a wife, a mom, a grandmom and many other things to many other people. Her husband, Randy, is a middle school teacher. I know her family and her community of friends are stunned by the brevity of this health/cancer tragedy.

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
