I spent today photographing the goings on at the 600th Anniversary celebrations at St Andrews University. 18 honorary doctorates were presented to such luminaries as Sir Tim Berners-Lee ( the man responsible for you being able to visit this website) Dame Jane Goodall, Professor Dame Marilyn Strathern, philosopher Professor Nancy Cartwright and of course Hilary Clinton, who gave the keynote speech.

I was unfortunately not able to gain access to the proceedings but Peopletwitcher was in the academic procession and had a seat at the lunch table and the presentation itself. I'm sure she will have more to say on the matter but sufficient to say that it was an impressive spectacle and one that StAndrews University can be justifiably proud.
