Away day
My OH has taken R to Sheffield Uni's open day, so I'm car-less until tonight. I still had to pick H up from gymnastics, so I bought a DaySaver and had a bus adventure.
First bus journey was around 50 minutes to Piccadilly (I normally go by train), then got another bus to Chorlton to go to Leon's Fabrics. I will be starting a dress with a zip at my next sewing lesson. It was a trek, but I did manage to get off at the correct stop.
Then, 2 more buses back to Manchester and into Abakhan's for a little more haberdashery stuff. I had a job find the stop for the bus to Oldham, and did a complete circle until I ended up back almost where I had started - just a little further up the street!
As I passed the University accommodation, all the new first year students were with their parents, unpacking their cars to start their new adventures away from home. I got a lump in my throat because next year, if things go well, that will be me and my OH with our son. Gulp!
Another bus from Oldham to the gym, then two more buses home with my lovely girl. I'm jiggered!!!
F and R had enjoyed their day too. R was really impressed with Sheffield Uni, and he seems really enthusiastic about going on to higher education. He's going to see a few more over the next weeks.
This is what I bought. I'm making a pincushion and thread catcher to sit alongside my machine. Those cut off threads drive me crazy when I see them about after I've sewed.
